CPR/AED and First Aid Courses

"watch-then-practice" format makes learning straight-forward and easy. Our trainings include the most up-to-date and newly released 2010 guidelines and protocols and are open to members as well as the general public.

BLS for Healthcare Providers:

Course Description: The American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation. Students must pass a skills test and written exam in order to qualify for a course completion card which is valid for 2 years.


Target Audience: For healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.


Heartsaver CPR and AED:


Course Description: The AHA Heartsaver AED Course teaches adult/child CPR, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), relief of choking in adults and children, and infant CPR and relief of choking. Also the use of barrier devices for all ages. Students must pass a skills test in order to qualify for a course completion card. The card is valid for 2 years.


Target Audience:For those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, lay rescuers who may have a need to respond to an emergency in the workplace or the general lay person. This is NOT the correct course for Healthcare Providers.

Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED:

Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course uses interactive lessons and videos to teach you comprehensive First Aid, CPR, and AED knowledge. This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs an AHA course completion card. You will learn:

  • First aid basics
  • Medical emergencies
  • Injury emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies
  • Adult CPR and AED use
  • Adult choking
  • Child CPR and AED use
  • Infant CPR (optional)
  • Child choking (optional)
  • Infant choking (optional)

CPR instruction includes high-quality compressions, airway management, breathing, and how to use a mask.

First Aid instruction includes bandaging, bleeding, wounds, choking, shock, seizure, fainting, broken bones, sprains, burns, bites, stings, poison, and temperature-related conditions, to name a few.


Heartsaver First Aid
:

This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs an AHA course completion card. You will learn:
  • First aid basics
  • Medical emergencies
  • Injury emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies

First Aid instruction includes bandaging, bleeding, wounds, choking, shock, seizure, fainting, broken bones, sprains, burns, bites, stings, poison, and temperature-related conditions, to name a few.


Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid:


Course Description: This course covers Adult/Child CPR, AED and Choking; Infant CPR and Choking; Asthma care training. Pediatric first aid topics include eye injuries; fever; suspected abuse; and snake, spider, scorpion, tick and marine animal bites and stings.


Target Audience: Childcare providers, babysitters, camp counselors, coaches, foster care. Upon completion, participants will receive a card which is valid for 2 years. NOTE: This course is not designed for the Healthcare Professional.
